Keeping in mind social distance & current restrictions. A simple flag raising with some members of staff and students such as 5th & 6th years who are back in school on the 16th March.

Virtual Flag Day Ceremony
Information sheets or presentations from students or teachers of all nationalities within the school, speaking about their heritage and what their flag means to them, as well as what the symbolism of the Irish Flag means. This could feature essays, poetry, reading and music.
A Flag Day themed History Class – delivered by a student or student/s
Topics could range from the history of the Irish Flag, the life of Thomas F. Meagher or any past years lesson plans devised by the History Teachers Association included in this pack and PDF versions available on our website.
A Flag Day themed Quiz
Designate a quizmaster and breakout into breakout into teams and host a quiz on any topics such as above. Have prizes and even wearing an old style hat could add a bit of fun.
A Flag Day themed Debate
Decide on a topic, set up two teams and an audience to judge.
A Musical Flag Day event
With music from all the different nations represented in the student body.

An online gallery slideshow featuring artwork on the Irish Flag and the Flags of all nationalities in your school community.
