The Battle Sword
The battle sword used by Thomas F. Meagher at Fredericksburg, 13th December 1862, was sourced by Senator Mark Daly.
THE BATTLE SWORD
On the occasion of the Taoiseach’s address to the joint session of congress on the 30th April 2008, the sword was presented to then Taoiseach Bertie Ahern T.D.Â
45 years before, J.F.K. presented the flag of the Irish Brigade to the Irish People.
An Taoiseach Bertie Ahern then presented Thomas F. Meagher’s battle sword to the US Senator Ted Kennedy.
